ISLANDERS are being asked to “go all in against cancer” this month and join Cancer Research UK’s Race for Life.
The event is set to return to St Helier on Sunday 21 June at 11am – allowing participants to choose from a 3k, 5k or 10k distance.
It is not a competitive event, however the 10k distance will be “chip timed” for anyone looking to beat their personal best.
Money raised through the event will go towards conducting research to prevent, diagnose and treat cancer.
Anyone wishing to take part it encouraged to sign up online ahead of the day.
Richard Healey, Cancer Research UK’s event manager for Jersey, said: “It’s time for Jersey to go all in against cancer, all in to help fund life-saving research
“Sadly, nearly one in two of us will get cancer in our lifetime but all of us can support the research that will beat it.
“We’d love for as many people as possible across Jersey to join us. Race for Life powers progress and it relies on a whole community of people coming together, united by a common purpose to beat cancer. People can walk, jog or run and go at their own pace. What matters is showing up together. There is a race for everyone and we mean everyone.”
Since the race began in 1994, more than 10 million participants have supported millions of pounds being raised for Cancer Research UK.
All Islanders are invited to enroll at raceforlife.org.
