Niger State governor, Mohammed Umar Bago, has reiterated his commitment to boosting healthcare investments through collaborations with top-notch medical centres in the United States of America for direct technical assistance and training of professionals in various sub-specialities in the state.

Bago’s Special Adviser on Digital Media and Strategy, Abdullberqy Usman Ebbo made this disclosure in Minna.

He explained that against this background, the Niger State Government, through collaboration with the United Nations Development Programme, UNDP, partnered with the Montefiore Medical Centre in New York in its bid to improve access, technology, and human resources for the health sector in the state.

Ebbo stated: “Governor Mohammed Bago visited the hospital headquarters in New York after rounding up his activities at the 79th Session of the United Nations General Assembly and was hosted by Dr. Philip Ozuah, a Nigerian physician who is the President and CEO of Montefiore Medicine, the umbrella organisation for the Albert Einstein College of Medicine and Montefiore Health System.”

According to him, Dr Ozuah has expanded access to care for underserved communities, recruited and cultivated outstanding talent, advanced programmes of excellence, fostered innovations in medicine and science, and improved financial and operational performance by integrating care across a rapidly growing and evolving Montefiore system.
