  • Sinn Féin has warned that “half measures” won’t work and that a real package of measures is needed to help people with the burden of rising fuel prices. 
  • Police in Derry have arrested a man on suspicion of murder after the body of a woman was discovered.  
  • Joan Delany, the wife of Olympic gold medallist Ronnie Delany, has died just ten days after the death of her husband.
  • An Irish mother who couldn’t find adaptive clothing for her child with additional needs has started a company to make her own.
  • One of the world’s largest credit rating agencies has upgraded its estimation of Ireland’s rating from AA to AA+, putting the country within one notch of a triple-A rating for the first time since 2009. 
  • RTÉ Raidió na Gaeltachta and TG4′s Nuacht will be unable to host a live debate with the candidates competing in the Galway West by-election — the Dáil constituency with the largest Gaeltacht in the country — because only three of the candidates nominated to date are sufficiently fluent to take part.
