Death toll in Dindigul hospital fire accident rises to seven

The death toll in the fire accident reported in City Hospital situated on Dindigul-Tiruchi Road on December 12 rose to seven on Thursday.

Six persons, including a six-year-old girl, died and over 30 persons suffered injuries when the fire broke out at the hospital. The injured were admitted to hospital.

On Thursday, one of the injured persons, Bala Pavitra, 30, of NGO Colony, North Renganathapuram, who was under treatment at Government Dindigul Medical College Hospital, succumbed to injuries.

According to the doctors, the woman’s husband Rajasekar and daughter Gopika, 6, died at the fire accident site itself.
