No drinking water supply in some areas of Tiruchi on Thursday

Drinking water supply will remain suspended in areas served by the Viragupettai, Marakkadai, Rockfort, and Chinthamani overhead tanks, in the city on Thursday (January 9) due to relocation of the main pumping line near the road overbridge near Fort Railway Station in Tiruchi.

The reconstruction of the overbridge is under way, and the main water supply pipeline running near it is obstructing the work and needs to be relocated. Since the relocation is to be carried out on Thursday, the water supply from Kambarasampettai headworks turbine water station to the overhead tanks in Viragupettai, Marakkadai, Rockfort, and Chinthamani will remain suspended.

Regular supply would be restored to these areas from Friday, a corporation press release said.
