Science teachers in rural middle schools to undergo advanced training

Tamil Nadu State Council for Science and Technology is organising an advanced training programme for science teachers from middle schools in rural areas.

The training programme will benefit the teaching staff of Classes 6-8 across 10 institutions in Dharmapuri, Dindigul, Chennai, Kanniyakumari, Nagapattinam, Namakkal, Perambalur, Tiruvallur, Thiruvannamalai, and Tiruchi.

The programme will focus on the importance of the basic sciences — mathematics, physics, and chemistry. It will cover difficult subjects and include advancements and latest developments in related fields.

Special lectures, demonstrations, and hands-on training in experiments will be part of the programme and the teachers will also undergo basic computer training and lab sessions, said S. Vincent, the Council’s member secretary.
