Child dies after falling into tub of hot water

A three-year-old girl died after falling into a tub of hot water on Tuesday. 

According to police, Oviya was the daughter of Ezhumalai, a daily-wage labourer residing in Thiruvanmiyur. Her mother had filled a bucket with hot water to bathe her. However, when she had stepped out to get a towel. the girl fell into the tub. 

The child suffered burns all over her body, and was admitted to the Government Kilpauk Medical college Hospital. She died within a few hours of getting admitted. 

The Thiruvanmiyur police have registered a case, and are investigating.
