Organs of 22-year-old man donated

Following the brain death of a 22-year-old man, his organs were donated here on Wednesday. 

N. Sanjay of Kadaladi in Ramanathapuram district, after sustaining injuries in a road accident near Tirumangalam, was admitted to Meenakshi Mission Hospital and Research centre on December 22.  

He could not be saved and was declared brain dead by doctors. Following approval by the State government, doctors of the hospital harvested his organs for donation.  

One kidney was retained at Meenakshi Mission Hospital and the other was taken to SRM Medical College and Hospital in Tiruchi. His liver was taken to Vadamalayan Hospitals, Madurai, his heart to MGM Healthcare, Chennai, by flight and his two corneas to Aravind Eye Hospital, Madurai. 

Ramanathapuram MP K. Navaskani and officials paid their last respects to the mortal remains at the native of the deceased in Ramanathapuram.
