Students showcase innovative ideas at science exhibition in Tiruchi

From automatic laser light sensors to dry clothes during rain to sowing seeds using robotics and fingerprint scanners to start the vehicle and removing water hyacinth from water bodies using technology, participants showcased innovative ideas at the two-day state-level science exhibition organised by the Directorate of School Education in Tiruchi.

Around 450 participants, both Class VIII to X students and teachers of various government, aided, and private schools, displayed their scientific models at Bishop Heber Higher Secondary School, Teppakulam, here.

Minister for School Education Anbil Mahesh Poyyamozhi distributed awards and certificates to the winners of the competition on Monday. Collector M. Pradeep Kumar and other senior officials were present.

The exhibition themes were physics, chemistry, mathematics, earth science, environmental science, engineering, bioscience/biochemistry and computer science.

Winners and select exhibits from the State-level competition will participate in the Southern India Science Fair to be held from January 21 to January 25 in Puducherry, according to a press release.
