Prince Harry's surprising morning routine when he's sunning it up in California
Since moving to California and starting a new life, Prince Harry has adopted a seriously wholesome morning routine, to make sure he is starting his day off just right
by Emma Mackenzie · The MirrorPrince Harry's controversial life in California with his wife Meghan - thousands of miles away from royal ties in the UK - is a completely different pace of life. The couple live in the lavish town of Montecito with their two children - Prince Archie, five, and Princess Lilibet, three - and whilst California is Meghan's home state, it's an entirely different life for the Duke of Sussex.
Despite the sunshine being pretty distinct from the rainy days we know all too well in the UK, the Duke of Sussex has adopted a seriously wholesome morning routine to make sure he is starting his day off right and setting himself up for success.
As reported in Hello magazine, Harry admitted during a meeting that he tries to carve out some all-important time for himself to focus on his health first thing. As part of BetterUp's Inner Work Day back in 2022, Harry said that he always tries to make sure to give himself 45 minutes each morning to work out, focus on mindfulness, or ground himself in nature.
Harry explained he uses the time "either for workouts, take the dog for a walk, get out in nature, maybe meditate".
Neighbours in his new hometown of Montecito have reportedly said that they regularly see the Duke of Sussex out and about, walking his dogs or riding his bicycle around the area. "Normally when you see him around here, he's walking his Labrador on the beach or on his bicycle followed by his security in a Range Rover," the neighbour is reported to have said to The Telegraph.
A friend of the Duke's also has revealed to Vanity Fair that Harry has picked up another healthy habit that he has incorporated into his morning routine - and it's something that his sister-in-law Princess Kate is reported to do too.
"Harry used to love lying in, but he's up super early with Meghan and the first thing he says he does is a work out, then he has a green juice," a source told royal expert Katie Nicholl. Princess Kate, who is also very athletic and heath-focussed, is said to also love starting her day off with a green smoothie packed with nutrients and vitamins, that contains "kale, spinach, romaine lettuce, blueberries, spirulina powder, matcha powder (small teaspoon) and coriander," it has been reported.
