Comedian Janey Godley has revealed that life is "scary" as she settles in at a hospice to receive end of life care following her battle with terminal cancer.

The 63 year old comedian, who shot to fame during lockdown for dubbing over snippets of Nicola Sturgeon's Covid-19 news briefings, was first diagnosed with the disease back in 2021 and moved into the hospice earlier this month. However, in 2022, she had received the all clear by medics and revealed the news to fans as she posted a scan that showed "no evidence of disease." But she later updated her followers to inform them the disease had returned.

But in a bid to maintain upbeat, the star took to social media to encourage more people to face the dialogue of death and living in a hospice. She wrote: "Husbands coming to see me today- as every day- the sheer love and outpouring of support also taking about death and living in a hospice is a brilliant thing - people need to have more dialogue around death and how families are affected at this time- it’s scary I know."

Earlier this week Janey was quick to post an adorable video of her reunion with pet pooch Honey. She captioned her reunion post saying: "All the love." In another video posted on X, fans saw Honey wrapped in a green blanket as Janey playfully cuddled her. Fans saw Honey jump up on her bed in pure excitement and she pounced on top of her, wagging her tail, showing their close bond.

Last month, Janey shared happier news on X as she told her fans her daughter was set to appear on Celebrity Mastermind. She captioned a picture of her daughter Ashley along with a snap of the BBC show. She told her followers: "Today my lassie is on celeb mastermind! I can’t be prouder!"

And fans were quick to comment. One said: "She looks so much like you Janey! How lovely for you all." Another person said: "Gosh she looks like you, Janey." Meanwhile a third person added: ""Wow, go her! She'll smash it. I'm not surprised your proud any decent mother would be."

Janey was forced to cancel her tour as she battled the disease. A statement was released that read: "The cancellation of Janey's tour was announced via a statement regarding the comedian's career read: "It is with huge sadness that we must announce the cancellation of Janey Godley's autumn 2024 tour. Janey has been living with stage four ovarian cancer for the past few years and the treatment from the wonderful Scottish NHS has kept the disease at bay, but sadly in the last few weeks the cancer has returned and there have been a few added complications."

It added: "Her doctors have now advised her that she must stop work for the foreseeable future. Janey is devastated to let down her thousands of loyal fans, and the wonderful venues, she has played many times over the years. She would like to thank everyone for their love and support at this difficult time."
