An Australian celebrity has revealed how a famous person was getting their hands on Ozempic.

Journalist Jana Hocking has given away details during one of her Saucy Secrets Instagram sessions after an anonymous social media user detailed that a famous face had been sharing a simple method of obtaining drugs to help shed excess weight without even visiting a doctor in person. The social media user explained how they had been at an event where a big-name star was telling other guests how to get the medication.

The anonymous user wrote: "I was at an event recently and a well-known celeb (u would recognise) was sharing a link to a [redacted] service that gives out Ozempic prescriptions without a video call. She told her friends to enter their [details], lie about their height/weight and do a quick phone call with a doc. Cost $400 all up."

Jana then admitted that she was already aware of this method of obtaining the medication, adding: "I TOO have heard this is how people are getting prescriptions." Using Ozempic for weight loss is classed as 'off label' as it is not what the medication is prescribed or intended for. Instead, Ozempic is primarily used to treat Type 2 diabetes.

The drugs have become extremely popular with celebrities due to their effects on appetite and weight with several stars already known to have used them to shed excess weight. Oprah Winfrey has confessed to using Ozempic to aid her significant weight loss, and Scott Disick was seen storing a similar drug, Mounjaro in his fridge during an episode of The Kardashians as he also displayed a big weight reduction.

In Australia, stars such as Rebel Wilson have admitted to using the drug at some stage, but many others who have also had impressive body transformations claim they have shed the weight in the old-fashioned way. Jackie 'O' Henderson, Chrissie Swan, Tones and I, Osher Günsberg and Fifi Box all claim that they only have strict diet and exercise to thank for their weight loss in recent months.

Ozempic and its sister drug Wegovy lowers blood sugar levels and suppress glucose made in the liver causing a reaction in users that mimics GLP-1, or glucagon-like peptide-1, a hormone found in the brain that works to regulate appetite and feelings of satiety.
