TikTok star Taylor Rousseau Grigg's family have opened up about her cause of death at just 25 years old.

The social media influencer's husband Cameron Grigg last week revealed the sad news that she had died, explaining that his wife had "dealt with more pain and suffering" in the past year than "people do in a lifetime."

Speaking to Today, Taylor's family confirmed that she had died on October 4 after suffering complications from asthma and Addison's disease. According to the NHS, Addison's disease is a a rare disorder of the adrenal glands.

The adrenal glands are two glands that sit on top of the kidneys and produce two essential hormones: cortisol and aldosterone.. When the gland is damaged, it means that not enough cortisol or aldosterone is produced. The disease is more common in women than men and can affect people of any age, though more common in those aged 30 to 50.

Symptoms of the disease can include a lack of energy, muscle weakness, low mood, loss of appetite and increased thirst. Symptoms can become more severe over time, with sufferers experiencing other symptoms such as fainting, cramps, dizziness and exhaustion.

Taylor previously spoke about her health problems in a TikTok in August but never specifically opened up about a diagnosis. Addressing her 1.4 million followers, she revealed that she was "not healthy and in good shape" and hadn't been "in a long time" despite once being "very athletic".

She and her husband wed in August 2023 and it was after this time that she explained she "got sick" and learned that she had a "forever" diagnosis.

Taylor said: “You’re seeing me be sick for the whole time that we’re married and not finding out what was wrong until this year … I barely found out what was wrong with me. I was struggling that whole time feeling like I was going to die.

"It just sucks because I’m 24 years old, I should be in my prime, I should be able to carry my suitcase up the stairs, I should be able to walk to the mailbox, or run, and those are just things that I can’t really do right now."

Her husband broke the heartbreaking news of her death last week in a lengthy post, saying: "No one ever expects to have to deal with this kind of pain and heartache, especially at our age."

He further revealed that his wife had "dealt with more pain and suffering" in the past year than "people do in a lifetime." His heartfelt message was accompanied by a series of photos featuring the couple, ranging from playful selfies and engagement snaps to wedding pictures and a glimpse of their Halloween costumes from a year ago.

"While her earthly body is still here waiting to give the gift of life, we know her spirit is in heaven dancing in the streets made of gold with all her beauty and grace," he added.
