StarCraft unveiled at BlizzCon 2026 with 2030 release window

StarCraft is indeed coming back, but don't expect it anytime soon.

The Blizzcon 2026 Opening Ceremony continued with the long-awaited reveal of the newest StarCraft title. The continuation of Blizzard's RTS series had been rumored for a long time with an announcement expected for this year's big Blizzard event. On Saturday, a new trailer was unveiled for the next entry in the series, simply titled StarCraft.

Blizzard had been teasing something new for StarCraft as recently as earlier this week. StarCraft 2 had been a marquee title for the publisher for many years until it finally wrapped up development during the COVID-19-plagued year of 2020. Since then, there has been little, if anything, on the StarCraft front, but the franchise now appears to be set for a grand return with a simple title that appears to imply a reboot.

I hope nobody's expecting it anytime soon, though. StarCraft is estimated for a 2030 (!) release.
