Yesterday a young man was taken to the hospital with meningitis, which can be a very serious infection for anyone who contracts it.
Meningococcal meningitis is spread via droplets of saliva, and may be infectious to those who have had prolonged close contact with the infected individual.
It is critically important to start treatment promptly, therefore if you are experiencing fever, headache, with or without rash, and feel “unusually sick”, please seek medical attention immediately.
Crown Heights Hatzalah members are aware of the situation, and can direct you to appropriate medical care, as necessary. A good and healthy Yom Tov.
