Welcome to the new series from the Jewish Children's Museum in conjunction with COLlive: “History’s Heroes,” where we learn about our favorite Jewish Heroes and craft, paint, or experiment, along the way!

Adam was the first person that Hashem created! Hashem made him from the earth and breathed life into him. Adam was originally as tall as the heavens, but after he ate from the Aitz Hadas, Hashem made him smaller. Adam and his wife, Chava, had three sons: Kayin, Hevel, and Sheis. He lived a very long life, from the beginning of creation until he was 930. Fun fact: Adam was supposed to live for 1,000 years, but he chose to give 70 years of his life to Dovid Hamelech, who was only given a short time to live.

Adam’s name is derived from the word “Adamah,” which means Earth because Hashem created him from the Earth. That is why we will be painting a World. There are many ways to achieve a specific design on your canvas while painting. Today’s exciting method will show you how to transfer an image of the planet Earth by stamping it into place. Gather your paints, clear your work surface, and let’s start painting!

Please join our contest, where we raffle off 2 Tickets to the Jewish Children’s Museum, when a completed project (picture or video) is sent to info@jcm.museum.
