A new open kitchen for locals and guests has launched in Crown Heights year-round, supplying meals at no cost every day of the week for anyone who needs or desires.

Named “The Rebbe’s Kich,” hosted at Moshe Rubashkin’s house – 1349 President Street and initiated by philanthropist R’ Eliyahu Schlossberg of Eretz Yisroel, the open kitchen operates in a dedicated kitchen space with professional cooks, and is certified by the Crown Heights Badatz, providing a welcoming place where anyone can come, eat, and enjoy.

From 9:00 AM to 9:00 PM every day, The Rebbe’s Kich offers delicious breakfast, lunch, or supper, at no cost. The kitchen is open to any Crown Heights community member, bochur, shliach, guest, or really any Yid who wants to enjoy a meal.

The Rebbe’s Kich first opened on Chof Beis Shevat. In the weeks since, it has been filled with activity, welcoming thousands of visitors, from shluchos during the Kinus and Chof Beis Shevat, to CTeen teens, hundreds of people over Purim, shluchim, guests and bochurim on regular weekdays, and many others.

This beautiful initiative undoubtedly gives the Rebbe tremendous Nachas Ruach, knowing that his shechuna has an open Kich for all to enjoy, at no charge. This is the greatest kavod for the Rebbe that all orchim, bochurim from Eretz Yisroel and around the world, and the whole Crown Heights community should always have a place to eat.

The project is dedicated l’iluy nishmas R’ Avraham Yitzchak Ben R’ Noson zt”l, by his son the esteemed ba’al tzedaka hachosid R’ Eliyahu Schlossberg of Eretz Yisroel.
