Renowned water expert to deliver keynote at international conference in Kuching

KUCHING (Oct 9): The Borneo International Water and Wastewater Exhibition and Conference (BIWWEC) 2024 is set to be a major event in the water industry, featuring a distinguished line-up of speakers and exhibitors.

One of the highlights of event, which will be held at the Borneo Convention Centre Kuching from Oct 23 to 24, will be the keynote address by International Water Association (IWA) Executive Director, Prof. Dr. Kala Vairavamoorthy.

The renowned figure in the water sector will share his insights on global water challenges and innovative solutions.

In addition to the keynote address, BIWWEC 2024 will also host a Town Hall Session on
Financial Sustainability in Water Infrastructure.

This panel discussion will feature experts from Air Selangor, Suruhanjaya Perkhidmatan Air Negara, Affin Bank, and Pengurusan Aset Air Berhad who will discuss strategies for ensuring the long-term financial viability of water projects in Malaysia.

Organised by the Malaysian Water Association Sarawak branch with the support of the
Ministry of Utility and Telecommunication Sarawak, IWA and Business Events Sarawak, BIWWEC 2024 brings together industry leaders, experts, and stakeholders to discuss the latest trends and challenges in the water sector.

Parallel events, including the Sarawak Utility and Telecommunication Conference (SutCom) and Malaysia Water Industry Human Resources (MyWINHR), will also be held during BIWWEC 2024, providing attendees with a comprehensive overview of the water industry in Borneo, especially Sarawak.

With over 1,000 delegates, 60 exhibitors, and 50 speakers, BIWWEC 2024 is expected to be a significant platform for networking, knowledge sharing, and business opportunities. The conference will be officiated by the Premier of Sarawak.
