KUCHING (Oct 9) : Subang Jaya Medical Centre (SJMC), a leading private tertiary hospital in Malaysia, has announced a strategic partnership with Public Medicare Group (PMG), one of Malaysia’s largest local primary healthcare providers.

This collaboration aims to enhance healthcare delivery in Malaysia, improve healthcare outcomes, and strengthen the nation’s overall well-being.

The memorandum of understanding (MoU) signed between both parties will establish a seamless pathway where patients can access primary and tertiary care nationwide, ensuring continuity of treatment and optimal patient outcomes.

This aims to complement both organisations’ core services by keeping healthcare professionals upskilled and current on the latest medical practices as well as empowering patients through community-based initiatives to promote health awareness and preventive care.

“We are pleased to partner with PMG to deliver quality healthcare that extends beyond regional boundaries.

“We are eager to collaborate to combine our resources and expertise as we take this significant step towards creating a more equitable healthcare system in Malaysia,” said Bryan Lin, chief executive officer of SJMC.

“Last year, we led the Global Surgery Initiative (GSI) which provided access to safe and affordable surgical and anaesthesia care in underserved areas in Sarawak.

“We hope this partnership will foster more initiatives such as this as we are dedicated to promoting the health and well-being of all Malaysians,” he added.

SJMC, a Joint Commission International (JCI) accredited hospital since 2019, has served the Malaysian community for 39 years with comprehensive and complex care across all medical specialities.

PMG, which began in Sarikei, Sarawak, has grown to include over 180 entities throughout the country.

It consistently provides a wide range of primary healthcare services, including pharmacies, medical clinics, and dental services.

The partnership will strengthen the healthcare network for professionals and patients of both organisations, ensuring broader access to healthcare services.

“Through this partnership with SJMC, we aim to establish a comprehensive and seamless referral pathway for our patients.

“Our goal is to create a bridge that links PMG’s primary care services with SJMC’s renowned expertise in secondary and tertiary care.

“This will ensure that our patients receive the right care at the right time, without any delays,” said Dr Chieng King Chong, founder and executive chairman of PMG.

As part of the collaboration, SJMC and PMG will explore several mutual benefits for patients, providing peace of mind using remote monitoring solutions for patients’ vital signs and real-time analysis through SJMC’s Connected Care digital ecosystem.

The two organisations will also develop a comprehensive combined loyalty programme through PMG’s existing Loyalty Card that will bring value to patients through a variety of rewards, discounts, and exclusive benefits such as complimentary airport transfers, fostering long-term customer relationships and promoting brand loyalty.

The partnership will also benefit healthcare professionals, with SJMC offering Continuing Medical Education (CME) opportunities across PMG branches nationwide to facilitate knowledge exchange and collaboration.

PMG will be able to harness SJMC Laboratory’s extensive diagnostic capabilities, integrating them into its patient care plans.
