Sabah delegation attends traditional Chinese medicine expo in China
by The Borneo Post · Borneo Post OnlineKOTA KINABALU (Sept 8): The president of the Sabah China Chamber of Commerce (SCCC), Datuk Frankie Liew, led a delegation of ten senior Chinese medicine practitioners from Sabah to participate in the 2025 International (Bozhou) Traditional Chinese Medicine Expo and the 3rd China (Bozhou)-RCEP Traditional Chinese Medicine Industry Cooperation Conference in Bozhou, Anhui.
This milestone event marks a significant step in strengthening collaboration between Sabah and China in the field of traditional Chinese medicine (TCM).
The Sabah delegation, comprising experienced practitioners – Tan Ker Shin, Loh Yun Kent, Ling Mei Fong, Lung Tet Kun, Ong Jenn Hong, Sim Hun Yung, Wong Yih Ching, Chen Wei Tso, Huang Sheng Chi and Lin Chiu Fang.
Liew highlighted Bozhou’s unique position as one of the cradles of TCM culture, with its deep historical heritage and abundant resources.
“Through this expo, we hope to bring back valuable knowledge and practical experience to further advance TCM development in Sabah. By doing so, we can raise the overall standard of practice locally and provide greater health benefits to the community,” he said.
He further emphasized that TCM, as a treasured legacy of Chinese civilization, is increasingly recognized worldwide for its role in disease prevention, chronic illness management, and holistic healthcare.
“This expo not only offers a valuable learning opportunity but also serves as a platform to deepen cooperation between Sabah and Bozhou, as well as between the TCM industries of China and Malaysia,” he added.
Liew also expressed SCCC’s commitment to exploring greater collaboration in technology exchange, product innovation, talent training, and industry partnerships, with the goal of promoting TCM development across regional countries for mutual benefit.
The Sabah TCM delegation conveyed their appreciation to the organizers for their warm hospitality and expressed eagerness to engage in knowledge exchange, gain insights into the latest industry developments, and bring back innovative practices to enrich Sabah’s healthcare landscape.
