Here’s how we’re helping Belgium's farmers save water with AI.
by Ben Townsend · GoogleTo address the challenges of water quality and availability in the Scheldt Basin, a vital river network flowing through Belgium, Google is supporting Agua Segura and Agrow Analytics to implement AI-powered precision agriculture across more than 1,000 hectares of farmland.
Agrow’s advanced technology platform integrates climate, water and soil data from satellite and thermal imagery to provide precise irrigation and fertilization recommendations, helping farmers make more efficient decisions. This initiative aims to replenish up to 158 million gallons (600,000 cubic meters) of water by reducing annual irrigation demand and fertilizer use across more than 1,000 hectares of farmland.
By equipping farmers with tools for smarter resource management, Google is helping support local ecosystems and building water resilience for our data center communities.
