by Frederique Mauduit · euronewsPsychologist Wambui Karathi, 23, set up a 'rage room' in September 2024 and has welcomed around 40 clients to date.
Karathi says these rooms are no substitute for real therapy. While visiting a rage room can offer temporary relief for issues such as anxiety, it does not address the root causes of distress.
According to a report by the Global Mind Project, 23% of Kenyans, or around 10.9 million people, suffer from mental disorders.
Alarmingly, 75% of the population lacks access to mental health services, and according to the Kenyan Ministry of Health, four people commit suicide every day.
