More than 2,700 without power due to extreme weather

More than 2,700 homes and businesses around the country are without power this morning following extreme weather conditions.

ESB Networks said they are working to restore power after adverse weather conditions caused widespread disruption.

The network has advised people to continue to check their website for updates.

It follows a number of status yellow rain warnings across the country issued by Met Éireann yesterday which have now all expired.

However, the forecaster has warned drivers this morning of potential localised flooding, difficult travelling conditions and poor visibility.
