AEW star Pac mourned fellow wrestler Andy Williams in heartbreaking final post — week before own death at 40

Pro-wrestling star Benjamin Satterley, known as Pac in All Elite Wrestling, mourned his late peer Andy Williams in a heartbreaking tribute — just 10 days before his own death.

On Sept. 17, Satterley shared a lighthearted throwback photo alongside Williams, who had died two weeks earlier after suffering a medical episode during a tag-team match. 

Satterley and Williams — wearing matching flame-printed bandanas — flexed and smirked as they posed backstage at an undisclosed wrestling event.

“We always knew you were an anomaly too good for this world,” Satterley said in a televised tribute for Williams on Sept. 12. “I just want to say I love you, man. And you always made sure that I knew you loved me too. I’ll miss you, my friend. ‘Till we meet again.”

The high-flying Satterley died at the age of 40, All Elite Wrestling announced on Sunday night. 

No cause of death was given.

Satterley, who signed with the Jacksonville-based wrestling company in 2019, competed at AEW’s pay-per-view event “All Out” at NOW Arena in Chicago on Saturday night. 

He notably was AEW’s inaugural All-Atlantic champion and a two-time World Trios champion. 

“Benjamin Satterley defined excellence, as a beloved husband & friend to his many loved ones, + in his wrestling knowledge, skill, unprecedented athleticism, professionalism, consistency + dedication to the sport that he loved & traveled the world to pursue,” said Tony Khan, AEW’s owner and chief operating officer.

“May Ben rest in peace.”

He also starred in WWE from 2012 to 2018 as “Neville,” where he held the WWE Cruiserweight Championship, the NXT Championship and NXT Tag Team Championship. 

Satterley’s death comes on the same day in which Williams’ family, loved ones and fans gathered for a public celebration of life at Buffalo RiverWorks in Buffalo, NY. 

Williams, 48, was competing in a tag team match with partner Jesse “The Blade” Guilmette at Mr. Small’s Theatre in Millvale, Pa., when he knocked his head against the ringpost and later collapsed.

Williams, known to wrestling fans as “The Butcher” and guitarist for “Every Time I Die,” was given CPR before he was rushed to Allegheny General Hospital, where he was pronounced dead, according to Love Wrestling, which organized the event.

The Allegheny County Medical Examiner’s Office confirmed Williams died following a medical crisis, but no preliminary cause of death was stated. 

“Anybody who knew Andy, they were his friend,” Williams’ father, Frank, told WIVB on Sunday. “If he had a dollar in his pocket and you needed it, he would try to get you a dollar and a quarter. He was that type of guy where money meant nothing to him, friendship meant everything, and that was my son.”
