I'm A Celebrity star details how contestants deal with a period in the jungle
by Karen Price, Sarah Tulloch, Peter Hart · Wales OnlineAs the latest instalment of I'm A Celebrity... Get Me Out Of Here! kicks off, fans are eager to witness what unfolds for celebrities like WAG Coleen Rooney, boxing legend Barry McGuigan, Loose Women presenter Jane Moore, and ex-Strictly dancer Oti Mabuse.
Yet behind the glitz of the show, curiosity peaks about the off-camera jungle life, which is why it's fortunate that former contestants are willing to share insider details. Frankie Bridge, a 2021 participant of the series on ITV, has been candid in her revelations to followers.
Frankie took to Instagram to spill some secrets about the programme. As The Saturdays singer uncovered during a Q&A session about her stint, she was questioned, "Possibly a little TMI but was there special allowance for anybody having their period?"
The panel member of Loose Women responded: "Lots of period questions. I was dreading having one in the camp! Think most of us were!" Frankie, who outperformed her spouse Wayne by clinching third place in her series, remarked: "No special allowances were made," reports OK!.
She elaborated: "But eco-friendly sanitary products are supplied and there's a medic on site at all times. So if anyone was in pain, relief could be offered obviously."
In a throwback to 2014, reality TV star Kendra Wilkinson struggled in her third Bushtucker Trial, attributing her difficulties to being on her period.
The model was voted to brave the Catecombs of Doom, but managed to secure only two stars within the ten-minute time frame allotted for the trial. She attributed her disappointing performance to it being her time of the month a fact she had made known to both the campmates and hosts Ant and Dec repeatedly.
With more than a quarter of her time elapsed before she dared to reach into the first crevice in search of a star, hindered by her fear of a juvenile crocodile, she admitted: "I'm so scared, I don't like this stuff."
Venturing deeper into the Catacomb, Kendra faced the challenge of retrieving stars from within skulls. Despite encountering fish innards in one of them, she emerged successful with a star.
However, she hit a roadblock at the next obstacle even though she found another star while crawling through a tunnel that housed a snake, she reached her limit and decided not to proceed. In the end, she declared emphatically: "I'm a celebrity... get me out of here!"
I'm A Celebrity... Get Me Out of Here! is on ITV1 and ITVX
