The experts particularly advocate for switching from baths to showers as an effective method to reduce water consumption.
They explain that a typical bath uses around 80 litres of water, while a five-minute shower with a standard showerhead only uses about 12 litres per minute. If you are able to turn the shower off between cleaning parts of your body, you can save even more.
For those who still prefer baths, the experts advise: "Try filling it halfway to avoid wasting water and be mindful to plug the drain before you start filling. Adjust the temperature gradually as the bath fills rather than waiting for the water to warm up first."
To maximise savings, they also recommend investing in a water-saving shower head, reports the Mirror.
