Death in Paradise star Josephine Jobert appears as a new detective in the first look of the Canadian series Saint Pierre.

The actress plays Deputy Chief Geneviève 'Arch' Archambault in the new series, which follows the story of a police team on the French territory of Saint Pierre and Miquelon, off the coast of Canada's Newfoundland.

Josephine, who hails from Paris, will play Arch. The arrival of Inspector Donny 'Fitz' Fitzpatrick—played by Allan Hawco—causes some trouble for the pair. The show will premiere in Canada on Monday, January 6, 2025.

A synopsis for the show reads: "Although the islands seem like a quaint tourist destination, the idyllic façade conceals the worst kind of criminal activity which tends to wash up on its beautiful shores. At first, at odds and suspicious of each other, Arch and Fitz soon discover that they are better together… a veritable crime-fighting force."

The show also stars Sex Education actor James Purefoy, Benz Antoine (Four Brothers), Erika Prevost (The Boys), and Jean-Michel Le Gal (French Exit). The trailer promises an exciting show with dark scenes mixed in with humor.

Josephine previously ruled out a return to Death In Paradise.

When asked if she'd be coming back to the show, she said, "Not really. I had a great time, and I made the best of it. I have amazing memories and met amazing people, too. But it's time to move on."

It also marked Ralf Little's departure from the show after several series as DI Neville Parker.

He said: "This last series was always going to be my last series, I had talks with the BBC, and with Red Planet, the production company and we all agreed that it just felt... if it was in my heart, like if it was just a heart decision, I'd have wanted to do it for 20 more years.

"But just for the show, and... for my character Neville, it just sort of felt like his story... it deserved to be sort of finished and his sort of journey... sort of deserved to be completed and he deserved a nice happy ending and so it just felt right."
