Work has been undertaken to connect the 3000 mm diameter Godavari Ring Main with the 1200 mm diameter Manjira Phase-III, IV gravity main pipelines at Velimela village near the Outer Ring Road (ORR).
Water Board Technical Director Prabhu and Chief General Manager Rajasekhar inspected the progress of these works at the field level on Sunday, October 25.
They instructed the concerned officials to complete the works expeditiously and make necessary arrangements to divert Godavari waters into the Singur-Manjeera supply system.
This will help to prevent interruptions in drinking water supply even during water shortages, officials said.
