LETTER: The BLM and control of Nevada land
by John Currell Henderson · Las Vegas Review-JournalIn his Sunday essay, former BLM employee Mike Ford provides readers with much information on BLM land management. But he fails to mention Nevada has no water to support large scale housing development. Additionally, he neglects the impact on housing costs of mass immigration triggered by the previous administration’s open border policy.
Weaning California farmers off the Colorado River would raise the cost of food but would also contribute to solving Nevada’s water shortfall and be supportive of homebuilders. More development means new tax revenue from land that is currently BLM managed.
