The croissant has been ‘reinvented’ at a London bakery
by Eloise Feilden · Time Out LondonWe’ll give you just one guess at what La Croissanterie, the new eatery from Michelin-starred chef Yannick Alléno, is dedicated to. Yep, buttery, flaky, crescent-shaped goodness is the star of the show at London’s latest patisserie.
Located inside the Pavyllon Lounge at Four Seasons Park Lane, expect some seriously swanky takes on the classic viennoiserie. Alléno (who is currently one of the most Michelin-decorated chefs in the world) has cooked up both sweet and savoury hand-laminated pastries.
A Caesar chicken croissant features on his menu’s salty selection, alongside a Scottish lobster option (which combines langoustine with egg mayo), a dish with Arabic lamb (with 36-hour confit lamb shoulder) and another of Asian wagyu (with sautéed wagyu beef). OK, these definitely aren’t your average baked goods.
As for sweet treats, there’s a hazelnut chocolate croissant or an almond praline option. Indulgence like this comes with a price tag a fair bit higher than your usual croissant: each menu item ranges from £15 to £20.
To wash it all down, La Croissanterie has a range of Lavazza blend coffees, iced Kagoshima matcha, cold brews and JING teas. Plus, a selection of the chef’s signature chocolates are also on the menu… just in case an array of loaded crescent rolls isn’t decadent enough.
