London tube and train disruption this weekend: full list of closures for October 17-18 2026

by · Time Out London

Just because the weather has turned colder and the evenings are getting darker, that does not mean London is short on things worth leaving the house for. In fact, the city is as busy as ever.

This weekend, there’s the finale of the BFI London Film Festival 2026, the start of Halloween activities, a whole host of new theatre productions (like the outstanding five-star Who’s Afraid of Virginia Woolf) and the hotly anticipated new Tate exhibition The 90s.

The only ball-ache about all of those things is that you’re probably going to have to take a train or two to get to them. And unfortunately, a smooth journey isn’t guaranteed. Some disruptions, you can’t predict. But there are some that TfL warns us about in advance. So, to help you prep your weekend plans properly, here’s our weekly guide to all the tube and train disruption you should expect over the next few days.
