Lamar Odom 'arrested for DUI' in Las Vegas and faces multiple charges

Lamar Odom has reportedly been “arrested for a DUI” in Las Vegas and faces multiple charges.

The 46-year-old former basketball player, who was once married to Khloe Kardashian, has openly struggled with alcohol and drug addiction.

According to TMZ, Lamar was also charged with two traffic violations.

According to the celebrity news site, he was given a ticket for exceeding the speed limit by more than 41 miles per hour and for changing lanes improperly or failing to maintain his lane.

Additionally, according to TMZ, Lamar is still being held in police custody.

The 46-year-old has been open about his struggles with alcohol and drugs inn the past, and in 2023 fronted a TMZ documentary called Lamar Odom: Sex, Drugs & Kardashians.

In both the documentary and his autobiography, Darkness to Light, Lamar talked about his battles with drugs and his recovery from cocaine.

After a well-reported near-death encounter in 2015, when the athlete overdosed in a brothel, he began his journey into recovery.

Lamar suffered six strokes, twelve seizures, and two heart stops before being discovered unconscious following a four-day binge.

“My doctors from Cedars-Sinai said, like, I’m a walking miracle,” he previously told ABC.

Lamar spent the next year in rehab as a result of the incident, which happened soon after he and his wife, Khloe Kardashian, split.

He did, however, previously describe how he used small dosages of ketamine under medical supervision to help him get clean.

In a 2019 ABC interview, the former athlete confessed he does occasionally have a social alcoholic drink, but has steered clear of any other substances.

Khloe and Lamar famously tied the knot just one month after they first met back in 2009.

However, after the NBA player’s cheating scandal and drug relapse in August 2013, the marriage started to deteriorate, and Khloé filed for divorce in December of that same year.

But when Lamar was discovered comatose in a Nevada brothel in October 2015, Khloe paused their divorce proceedings and stepped in to help him during his months-long recovery.

But the following year, Khloe cut all ties with the former Lakers player and eventually finalised their divorce after she found out he was doing drugs again.
