Riyadh - Mubasher: Miahona Company, a prominent Saudi-based provider of water and environmental infrastructure solutions, has officially entered into a Public-Private Partnership Agreement (PPPA) with Uzsuvtaminot Joint Stock Company for a major water treatment project in the Republic of Uzbekistan.
The agreement, signed on 18 June 2026, marks a significant milestone in Miahona’s international expansion strategy, establishing a long-term operational presence in the Central Asian water sector through a contract valued at approximately $105 million (SAR 394 million).
The signing of the PPPA follows a period of preliminary development initiated by a memorandum of understanding (MoU) originally announced in 2025.
This latest development formalizes the partnership between Miahona and Uzsuvtaminot, the state-owned entity responsible for water supply and sewerage in Uzbekistan. The project focuses on the Zomin water treatment plant located in the Jizzakh region, a strategic infrastructure asset designed to meet the growing utility demands of the area.
Under the terms of the Zomin EOM (Enhancement, Operation, and Maintenance) agreement, Miahona will be responsible for the comprehensive rehabilitation and upgrading of the existing facility. Following the development phase, the company will manage the operation and maintenance of the plant for a duration of 25 years.
The facility is engineered with a design capacity of 50,000 cubic meters per day, ensuring a consistent and treated water supply for the regional population.
Financial projections for the venture estimate the total contract value at $105 million. However, the company noted that the final valuation remains subject to the issuance of a formal government decree by the Republic of Uzbekistan. This decree is a standard regulatory requirement under Uzbek law and serves as the final prerequisite for the agreement to become fully effective.
Miahona anticipates that the financial impact of the Zomin project will begin to reflect positively on its financial statements starting from the first quarter (Q1) of 2027, coinciding with the projected commencement of operations.
This long-term contractual revenue aligns with the company’s stated objectives of achieving sustainable growth and diversifying its geographic footprint.
Beyond the Zomin facility, Miahona confirmed that it continues to progress on other projects included within the broader development addendum signed with the Uzbek Ministry of Investment, Industry, and Trade.
The company remains engaged in active development phases for these additional initiatives and has committed to disclosing further material developments as they occur, in accordance with the regulatory requirements of the Saudi Exchange (Tadawul).
