Princess Alexia has taken London by storm—her first term as a university student at the University College London began this week.

The Dutch Royal Court shared a video and photo of the young royal arriving at her campus over the weekend. Princess Alexia is shown waving to the camera as she walks towards a building with a ‘welcome’ banner hanging from its pillars.

Princess Alexia will study for a Bachelor of Science & Engineering for Social Change degree. According to the University College London website, graduates with this degree are “…taught from engineering, social and political perspectives” to gain “multi-disciplinary knowledge that is sought-after in business, charity, government and policy roles.”

The Dutch Royal Court has said that Princess Alexia’s time in London will be considered private. It is unknown if she will attend official engagements back in the Netherlands while she studies.

In early June, when the Dutch Royal Family attended their annual summer photocall, Princess Alexia told the reporters that she’d been thinking about her education after completing a gap year, and said that, “I think I am certainly not the only one in the Netherlands, of my age, who is very concerned about this choice.”

Princess Alexia joins both sisters in continuing their education this year. Princess Catharina-Amalia is a student at the University of Amsterdam, reading for a degree in Politics, Psychology, Law and Economics. Princess Ariane is in Italy attending UWC Adriatic.

Last week, Princess Alexia turned heads at Prinsjesdag, wearing a stunning red gown as she joined her parents and older sister at the King’s Speech for the opening of Parliament. Before that, she spent the summer carrying out public duties in Paris for the Summer Olympics.
