Oklahoma Braces For Stormy Weekend Ahead
· NewsTalk 1290It's almost the weekend, and forecasts are beginning to take shape for Oklahoma's upcoming severe weather pattern. Storms will return to the state Friday and continue into the weekend and through next week.
As of Thursday, the severe weather risks for Friday and Saturday are expected to be a marginal, but severe storms could begin to ramp up starting Sunday and linger through Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday with a slight risk all four days.
Friday's severe weather risk will mostly be in northern Oklahoma.
Northern Oklahoma is expected to be the first to see severe storms return to the state. All severe weather is expected to remain above I-40 on Friday. Storms could begin Friday afternoon, and hazards include hail up to golf ball size, damaging wind gusts from 60-70 miles per hour, and a very low tornado threat.
The western half of Oklahoma expected to see severe weather Saturday.
Severe weather chances will continue Saturday but for the western half of Oklahoma. Storms are expected late Saturday afternoon and into the evening. Hazards expected include large hail, damaging winds and heavy rain.

A slight risk of severe storms expected Sunday and Monday across Oklahoma.
Storms are anticipated to become stronger and become more widespread starting Sunday and continuing into Monday. Hazards include damaging wind gusts, large hail and tornadoes. Oklahoma residents are encouraged to pay attention to the forecasts as risk areas may change as we get closer to Sunday.

The slight risk for severe weather will continue Tuesday and Wednesday in Oklahoma.
Another two days of slight risk severe weather is expected on Tuesday and Wednesday next week. The risk areas for Tuesday will include most of Oklahoma, while shift eastward on Wednesday. Main hazards will include large hail, damaging wind gusts and tornadoes.
