Environmental conservation groups have launched a “Cherry Campaign” to protect cherry trees and cherry blossoms in Taunggyi Township, according to local sources. The campaign was initiated as cherry trees in the area have begun to bloom during the coldest period of the winter season. Organizers are urging the public not to pick or damage cherry blossoms in order to preserve their natural beauty.
