A deep depression that crossed Kyaikto has downgraded to a land depression as it tracks north-northwest near Phyu, triggering a brown-level alert, according to Myanmar's Department of Meteorology and Hydrology (DMH). As of 6:30 am on September 29, the system was centered roughly 30 miles south-southeast of Phyu, packing maximum sustained winds of 35 mph. Over the next 36 hours, it is forecast to move across Bago, Nay Pyi Taw, Mandalay, Magway, and lower Sagaing regions.
