The future Queen of Norway was diagnosed with pulmonary fibrosis in 2018, a disease where a build-up of scar tissue makes it challenging for the lungs to carry oxygen into the bloodstream.

Dec. 19 (UPI) -- Norwegian Crown Princess Mette-Marit's lung condition has worsened, and her doctors are considering a lung transplant, the royal palace announced Friday.

Mette-Marit has pulmonary fibrosis, a disease that stiffens the lungs, making it hard to breathe.
