Matthew Perry's ketamine supplier Mark Chavez, a former doctor, was sentenced to eight months of home detention and three years of supervised release.

A second California doctor was sentenced on Tuesday to eight months of home confinement for illegally supplying "Friends" star Matthew Perry with ketamine, the powerful sedative that caused the actor's fatal drug overdose in a hot tub in 2023.

The doctor, Mark Chavez, who had used fraudulent prescriptions to acquire the drug and conspired to sell it to Mr. Perry at inflated prices, was sentenced to three years of supervised release.

A California doctor, Salvador Plasencia, was sentenced to 2½ years in prison for illegally supplying ketamine to “Friends” star Matthew Perry, whose 2023 overdose death was linked to the drug. Plasencia had pleaded guilty to four felony counts of illegal distribution and faced up to 40 years.
