Researchers have developed a nasal swab test for children that can help diagnose certain asthma subtype or endotype. The study was published in the journal JAMA which said that this non-invasive approach can help clinicians prescribe treatments.

Using nasal swabs to identify a child’s asthma subtype may lead to more precise medication prescribing and development of better treatments for what have been harder to diagnose types of the respiratory condition, researchers reported on Thursday.
