Thousands of devotees gathered at the banks of the river Ganga across India on Tuesday to celebrate Makar Sankranti.

In Uttarakhand, devotees gathered at Har Ki Pauri in Haridwar to perform the customary Ganga snan (holy bath) on auspicious occasion of Makar Sankranti.
