Double murder at bar in Manchester

Two men were shot and killed in an attack at a bar along Manchester Road in Manchester on Monday night.

They have been identified by police as 40-year-old truck driver Nicholas Tomlinson of the May Day district in the parish, and 32-year-old labourer Chester Smith.

The police report that about 8:45 p.m., Smith and Tomlinson were at the bar when gunmen entered and opened fire, hitting them.

The attackers then escaped.

The men were assisted to hospital, where they were pronounced dead.

The incident is being investigated by the Manchester police.
