Man killed, several injured in multi-vehicle crash in St Mary

A man was killed and several others injured in a crash along the Oracabessa main road in St Mary early Christmas morning.

The deceased has been identified by the police as 58-year-old Devon Anthony Baldie.

According to the police, at approximately 12:40 a.m. on Thursday, December 25, multiple motor vehicles travelling in different directions were involved in a collision.

The police said that as a result of the impact, several occupants sustained injuries and were transported to the Port Maria Hospital for treatment.

Baldie was pronounced dead upon arrival.

“Investigations into the circumstances surrounding the collision are ongoing,” said head of the St Mary Police Division, Anthony Wallace.

“We are once again appealing to motorists to exercise caution, obey traffic laws, and operate their vehicles responsibly, particularly during the holiday period,” he added.
