Governor Ademola Adeleke of Osun State has unveiled a comprehensive multi-party campaign council slated for inauguration in Osogbo on Thursday, October 22, 2026, bringing together fierce political rivals to work for President Bola Tinubu’s 2027 re-election bid.

The composition of the council represents a massive political realignment in Osun State.

While early reports from the national All Progressives Congress (APC) leadership initially indicated that the Minister of Marine and Blue Economy, Gboyega Oyetola, had been excluded from national advisory selections, subsequent updates from the Osun State government confirm that Governor Adeleke has officially included Gboyega Oyetola, Chief Bisi Akande, and Senator Iyiola Omisore on the unified state campaign council list.

The information was contained in a statement issued on Tuesday by Olawale Rasheed, spokesperson for Governor Adeleke, the state coordinator of the council.

The statement said the campaign council would comprise political leaders, elected office holders, former lawmakers, party executives and other stakeholders drawn from the All Progressives Congress (APC), Accord and the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).

Governor Adeleke, who is the state coordinator, is expected to oversee the inauguration of the council, which brings together heavyweights from different party backgrounds in support of President Bola Tinubu’s presidential campaign.

Prominent figures listed include former Osun State Governor Gboyega Oyetola, former APC national chairman Chief Bisi Akande, Senators Iyiola Omisore, Ajibola Basiru, Jide Omoworare and Sola Adeyeye, as well as former House of Representatives Speaker Foluke Etteh.

Other APC figures named include Senator Adenigba Fadahunsi, Wole Oke, Bimbo Ajilesoro, Taiwo Oluga and several serving and former legislators.

The structure includes party executives, National Assembly members and candidates, state lawmakers, former legislators, local government chairpersons and critical stakeholders from across Osun State.

The inauguration is expected to bring together political leaders and office holders from the participating parties as the council prepares for its activities in the state.
