by Tajudeen Balogun · The Eagle OnlineThe Lagos State Muslim Pilgrims Welfare Board has announced the final fare for its intended pilgrims, hailing the Chairman of the National Hajj Commission of Nigeria (NAHCON).
This was contained in a statement issued by the Board’s Director, Public Affairs, Taofeek Lawal, and sent to The Eagle Online on Friday.
The Board Secretary, AbdulHakeem Ajomagberin, according to the statement, disclosed this on Thursday when he featured on: “The Conversation,” a live programme on Lagos Television (LTV).
He said the 2027 hajj fare will be N7,882,822.00.
Ajomagberin attributed the reduction in the fare, compared to 2026, to the efforts of the NAHCON Chairman and Chief Executive, Ambassador Ismail Abba Yusuf.
He said: “The credit for this reduction goes to the NAHCON Chairman, who since assuming office has pledged to work towards reducing the Hajj fare and making the exercise seamless for Nigerian pilgrims.”
Similarly, the Board’s Head featured on live programmes on Radio Lagos and Eko FM the same day, urging intending pilgrims to pay the Hajj fare on or before September 26, 2026, the deadline set by NAHCON.
According to him, early payment will enable the Board to secure travel documents within the timeframe stipulated by the Saudi authorities.
