Tinubu Jabs Aregbesola: I know a man nicknamed ‘Half Salary’ in Osun + Video
by The Eagle Online · The Eagle OnlinePresident Bola Ahmed Tinubu has jabbed a former two-term Governor of Osun State, Ogbeni Rauf Aregbesola, when he said he knows a man in Osun State with the nickname: “Half Salary.”
President Tinubu said this when he received the reelected Governor of Osun State, Ademola Adeleke, at the State House in Abuja.
Speaking on the promise to restore fuel subsidy by former Vice President Atiku Abubakar if elected president in 2027, Tinubu said the benefits of the removal weighed more positively than negatively.
He said when he came into office in 2023, about 27 states were unable to pay salaries.
He said during the reception on Thursday: “I saw one of my opponents (Atiku Abubakar) now saying he will go back to subsidy.
“I read it.
“That is a demonstration of a serious ignorance on governance and economy.
“Before I came here, 27 states were unable to pay salaries.
“Not to even talk of pensioners.
“Salary of workers.
“In your state, I know a man that I raised, who is nicknamed Half Salary.”
