2027: NDC unveils national secretariat

by · The Eagle Online

The Nigeria Democratic Congress on Monday inaugurated its newly acquired national secretariat in Abuja, marking a significant step in the party’s preparations for the 2027 general elections.

The unveiling ceremony took place in the Jabi area of the Federal Capital Territory shortly after an emergency meeting of the party’s National Executive Committee.

Those in attendance included the NDC National Chairman, Senator Moses Cleopas; the party’s National Leader, Senator Seriake Dickson; Senator Victor Umeh, who represents Anambra Central in the National Assembly; and the party’s Rivers State governorship candidate, Dumo Lulu-Briggs, among other leaders and members.

The newly acquired facility would also serve as the party’s presidential campaign headquarters as it intensifies preparations for the 2027 general elections.

The development comes as the NDC moves to strengthen its organisational structure and establish a central base for coordinating its political activities ahead of the polls.

The party, which has positioned itself as a platform for opposition forces seeking an alternative to the ruling All Progressives Congress, is expected to use the facility to coordinate its national operations and presidential campaign activities.

Congratulating party members and supporters on the development, Dickson described the new secretariat as a unifying base for the party.

He said the “newly acquired Noah’s Ark will be a befitting home for all.”
