Oyo Rescue: NSCDC boss hails professionalism of rescue team

Dr. Ahmed Audi, the Commandant General (CG) of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), has commended the resilience and professionalism by the rescue team of the abducted Oyo State pupils and teachers.

This was contained in a statement issued to newsmen by the NSCDC Public Relations Officer (PRO), Babawale Afolabi, on Saturday.

Audi recalled that 44 students and teachers were rescued on Friday by a Joint Security Team after being abducted from three schools in the Oriire area of Oyo State.

He described the successful rescue mission as a clear demonstration of the strength of inter-agency collaboration and intelligence sharing.

He said that it also reaffirmed the Federal Government’s unwavering commitment to combating terrorism, securing educational institutions and protecting the lives and property of all citizens.

The NSCDC boss reiterated that the corps would continue to strengthen the protection of schools and other Critical National Assets and Infrastructure.

According to him, this will be achieved through proactive intelligence gathering, strategic deployment of personnel, community engagement and sustained collaboration with sister security agencies.

The CG while reiterating that national security was a collective responsibility, urged Nigerians to play their role by supporting security agencies with timely and credible information that could lead to the arrest of criminals.
