Agagu withdraws from Ondo South by-election, offers reason

A leading aspirant in the Ondo South Senatorial Bye Election, Pastor Femi Agagu, has withdrawn from the race, citing his reason for doing so.

The ace politician spoke via a statement he issued on Sunday, saying that exiting from the contest became honourable and reasonable.

He said he realised that the process cannot be fair and as such won’t produce a popular candidate.

“It dawned on me that a supposedly open democratic process has suddenly taken on a shadowy outlook, leaving some of us in the dark.

“I am, therefore, left with no option but to pull out of the contest whose outcome has already been predetermined.”

Agagu thanked his supporters and members of his political family for their steadfast belief in his competence, capacity and suitability to represent the people of Ondo South in the Senate.
