2027: Uzodimma scales APC Senate screening

The Governor of Imo State, Hope Uzodimma, has appeared before the All Progressives Congress (APC) screening committee for senatorial aspirants.

Governor Uzodimma was screened by the committee led by the National Chairman of the APC, Professor Nentawe Yilwatda.

He is seeking to represent Imo West Senatorial District in the 11th Senate.

If he wins the election in January 2027, he has to resign from office before he can be sworn-in as a senator of Federal Republic of Nigeria in June 2027.

His tenure as governor is expected to end on January 15, 2028.
